Inset painted burl wood – Apparently the cabinets had real burl-wood veneer specked-out, but it was finished without it. Time was of the essence. The general contractor asked if we could paint the burl-wood over the existing mahogany instead. What you see is the result of that inquiry.

The cabinets in this built in hutch were in good condition but the color and oak wood grain dated the cabinet. To compliment the interior design and add richness to the dining room the cabinets were refinished to a cherry/mahogany custom finish.

This entry was nice before but very flat surfaces. This is a good example on how Trompe L’Oeil (3D shading) can dramatically change flat surfaces. Trompe L’Oeil is is an art technique involving realistic imagery in order to create the optical illusion that the depicted objects exist in three dimensions.
